Pure wool fill: 100% camel wool. Our lightweight camel hair filled comforters (duvet inserts) will disperse the heat and will keep you dry and comfortable for perfect night’s sleep. Scientists believe that sleeping on or under wool lowers a heart rate and has a calming effect.

Large size: Queen – 90x90″ (6.6 lbs).

Cover: 100% cotton.

Optional white 100% cotton duvet cover with a zipper at the bottom and inside corner ties. Custom made to fit our comforters: Twin – $33, Queen – $40 & King – $45. We only offer white duvet covers.

Corner loops: There are loops in each corner of a comforter to secure it inside a duvet cover.

Piped edges: 4 mm (0.15 in.) piping around the perimeter of a comforter for durability.

The camel wool comes from the two-humped Bactrian camels of Gobi desert (Mongolia). The camel and sheep were grown organically in the deserts and pastures maintained without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.

Fill power: 250 gsm (250 grams of wool per sq. meter). Quilted cover provides even distribution of wool filling. Camel wool is significantly more expensive than sheep wool because it is hard to collect it. While sheep can provide wool all year round, the camel wool is collected only during the molting season in the spring. Camel wool is lighter than sheep wool because camel hair has a hollow space in the middle. Camel wool is also more durable than sheep wool and the bedding products filled with camel wool will most likely outlast the comforters filled with sheep wool.

Odorless. Camel wool has been washed with non-toxic biodegradable detergent to remove foreign matter, grease & dust. No animal or chemical scent.

Zipper for checking the wool filling. We design our comforters with zippers so that you can see that we are using natural, pure and clean wool.

Cruelty free. No animals were harmed in creation of these comforters. Unlike production of feather filled comforters, wool comforters don’t require killing of birds.

Care: These wool comforters are machine washable making them easy to clean but they cannot be tumble dried (do not put them in a dryer). Spinning in a dryer will cause the wool filling to felt and lump unevenly. Hang or lay flat on towels to air dry. Dry cleanable. Recommended to use with a duvet cover. It’s easier to wash a duvet cover than a comforter. Duvet covers can be tumble dried and they dry fast. Wool comforters take a long time to dry and they cannot be tumble dried.

The prices for camel wool have recently been rising and many manufacturers started blending camel wool with other less costly fibers. Slow and humane process of obtaining the camel hair makes it one of the scarcest fibers in the world especially since camel backs are not shorn – they protect the animal from the heat during the summer. Average annual yield of wool from one adult camel is only about 11 lbs. The Gobi desert’s camel herders have a very short window in the spring to shear their animals before camels start molting and lose their precious hair to the wind.
