100% Wool Fill. Our nursing pillows are filled with lambswool balls. No synthetic content. Shell of the pillow: 100% Cotton. Not waterproof, use a bib if your baby drools a lot.

Dimensions: 23″ length x 19″ wide x 5.5″ high. Most other brands make smaller pillows. For example, Boppy markets 18″ x 16″ x 5.5″ pillows.

Adjustable. The pillow has a zipper and you can remove the wool filling to make the pillow flatter/softer or add wool or other filling to make the pillow higher and firmer. If you think the pillow is too thick to do tummy time, unzip both covers and remove part of the filling and add it later when the baby gets older.

Versatile. Recommended uses for this pillow:

• Using for back support during pregnancy. Place it backwards, so that it rests on your back rather than your stomach while sitting in your office chair or on the couch to support your sore lower back muscles,
• Sitting on a pillow after vaginal delivery while healing especially after experiencing a tear (the pillow helps relieve the pressure when the woman sits on the hole),
• Nursing. Wrap the pillow around the waist and position the baby at your chest level. If the pillow is too low for you, use other pillows or blankets under this pillow until the baby is older,
• Bottle feeding (mommies recovering from a c-section surgery who may find it uncomfortable to have a baby up against their incision),
• Tummy time and teaching a baby to sit (wrap the pillow behind baby’s back when she/he is moderately stable sitting upright. The pillow will provide cushion if the baby falls over),
• Adults can use this pillow as a neck pillow or travel pillow (comes with a vinyl bag and is easy to carry while travelling).

Brest Friend pillow can only be used for nursing.

Slipcover. Slipcover is made out of a soft 100% cotton jersey that is great for baby’s sensitive skin. There is a zipper in the back of the pillow for easy on and off for machine washing. There are multiple super cute designs to choose from. Unisex colors are available.

International Certifications. The wool supplier is periodically audited by quality assurance institutions. The wool used for this pillow was certified by independent international organizations OEKO TEX and WOOLMARK. These certifications mean that the wool used for this pillow is pure wool and the product does not contain any harsh chemicals. You can rest assured that your baby will not be inhaling any toxic chemicals. Please avoid pillows filled with polyurethane foam. Foam is extremely flammable and is often treated with flame retardants which may be harmful for you and your baby.

Temperature Regulating.Wool pillows regulate body temperature. Polyester filled pillows retain body heat and may cause a baby to sweat. Thermostatic properties of lamb wool regulate temperature under all thermal conditions. It makes human body warmer in cold temperatures and cooler in warm temperatures. Wool also allows the skin to breathe because wool is porous.

Hypoallergenic. Our nursing pillows are made of non-toxic natural materials. They are an ideal solution for those who are allergic to polyester or other artificial fibers. Wool sanitized with non-toxic detergent. Dust-mite resistant.

Antibacterial. Wool is inherently antibacterial and does not need to be cleaned as often.

Wool pillow vs. feather, polyester or foam filled pillows. No flying/poking feathers, no birds were killed. Feather, foam or polyester filled pillows cause overheating and sweating while wool dissipates the heat and stays cool. Wool absorbs sweat without feeling damp and keeps the skin dry. Unlike feather, foam or polyester pillows, wool pillows do not harbor dust mites, antistatic (have no electrical buildup and do not cling to the skin), safer (wool is fire resistant). Wool pillows biodegrade when discarded at the end of its useful life whereas synthetics clutter landfills for a long time. Manufacturing of synthetics releases air pollutants.

Easy to Clean. The pillow can be machine washed in cold water. Follow our wool pillow maintenance instructions. If you wash Brest Friend pillow, it will shed chunks of foam and will become useless.
