Wool stuffing does not retain moisture and therefore mold and bacteria do not like it.Soft, fluffy, dense & durable sheep wool puffs, also called wool bolas, wool bolus or woolly bolas. These little bits of wool are made of 100% natural wool and have no synthetic content. The wool has not been bleached, carbonized (not treated with sulfuric acid to dissolve grease and vegetable matter) and not dyed. Wool bolas compress less over time than wool batting.
Wool bolas can be mixed with other stuffing such as shredded latex.
Color: off-white/gray, the color of natural unbleached undyed wool (our wool stuffing looks lighter in the pictures because of the bright light).
The wool used to make these wool puffs has been washed with non-toxic biodegradable detergent. It was also lab tested and certified by OEKO TEX as being free from harmful substances. No chemical off-gassing.
Odorless: Our wool bolas have no chemical or animal odor. No lumps. Almost no vegetable matter. The wool is very clean and does not need washing. Takes dye well. Unlike synthetic fillings, wool filling is biodegradable and good for environment.
Recommended uses for wool stuffing:
– adding volume to new wool pillows or adding some fluffiness to old compressed pillows,
– for crafts, eg stuffing animals or dolls, eg Waldorf dolls,
– making pin cushions.
For Standard size (20″x26″) pillow you need about 2 Lbs of wool bolas, for Queen (20″x30″) you need 2.5 Lbs and for King (20″x36″) you need at least 3 Lbs of wool stuffing. Please contact us if you need the weight that is not offered in this listing.
